‘The Art’ Captivates Audience at Wes-Dhaari Sindhi Theatre Festival

KARACHI: The play "The Art" captivated the audience on the fourth day of the "Wes-Dhaari Sindhi Theatre Festival 2026" at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, drawing an enthusiastic response from those in attendance. The production, adapted into Sindhi by Bedil Masroor and directed by Paras Masroor, featured performances by Arshad Sheikh, Umair Bhutto, and Nadir Hussain.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, "The Art," originally written by Yasmina Reza, explores the dynamics of friendship among three close friends as they grapple with ideological differences that create tension in their relationships. The narrative centers on the purchase of a piece of artwork by one friend, which sparks a disagreement with a professor friend who objects to the acquisition. The third friend attempts to mediate and resolve the ensuing conflict. The play conveys a message about the importance of preserving friendship and mutual respect despite ideological disagreements. The audience showed appreciation for the artists' performances with enthusiastic applause.
