Bangkok: Thailand has unveiled its squad for the upcoming Women's Asia Cup in Dubai, with captain Naruemol Chaiwai set to lead a team that remains largely unchanged from the group that clinched the ICC Women's Emerging Nations Trophy in 2025.

According to International Cricket Council, the squad retains the core players who participated in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 Global Qualifier, where Thailand advanced to the Super 6 stage. Chaiwai, who was the leading run-scorer for her team and the third-highest overall in the Global Qualifier, will once again take the helm. Experienced spinner Thipatcha Putthawong, who finished as the joint-second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament, will spearhead the bowling attack alongside Suleeporn Laomi and Sunida Chaturongrattana.

Naomi Hamilton is the sole new addition to the squad, which aims to build upon Thailand's recent progress on the international cricket stage. With a strong batting lineup led by Phannita Maya, Nannapat Khoncharoenkai, and Natthakan Chantham, the team is poised to compete against some of the top sides in the region.

The eight-team Asia Cup commences on Friday, with Thailand placed in Group A alongside India, Pakistan, and Hong Kong. Thailand will face Hong Kong in the tournament's opening match on Friday, August 28.
