Secretary Livestock Visits UVAS Ravi Campus Pattoki to Assess Educational and Research Facilities

Lahore: Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab, Ahmad Aziz Tarar, visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Ravi Campus in Pattoki, where he praised the institution's educational and research facilities. The visit included meetings with senior faculty members and a tour of various departments, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in research and development.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Secretary Tarar, accompanied by government officials, met with UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani and other faculty members. The discussions centered on strengthening ties between the Livestock Department and UVAS, particularly in research, technology transfer, disease diagnostics, and livestock productivity enhancement.

During his visit, Secretary Tarar toured the Central Laboratory Complex, clinics, and other facilities, and planted a sapling to promote greenery. He expressed support for UVAS's role in advancing veterinary education and livestock sector development in Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Rabbani highlighted UVAS’s strategic importance and its contributions to the livestock community, while Prof. Dr. Saima detailed ongoing academic and research initiatives.

Lt. Col. (R) Hamayun Jamil Akhtar presented plans for an Agri-Livestock Tourism project at Ravi Campus, which includes traditional food, camel cart rides, and more, aiming to boost tourism and education in the sector.
