UoS Hosts National Conference to Address Future of Education in Pakistan

Murree: The University of Sargodha has organized the fourth national conference on the Future of Education at Kohsar University Murree. The event, which began on Friday, brought together vice chancellors, educationists, and researchers from across Pakistan to deliberate on emerging trends and challenges in higher education.

According to University of Sargodha, the conference was inaugurated by Prof Dr Syed Muhammad Junaid Zaidi, the founding Rector of COMSATS University, who emphasized that Pakistan's future relies heavily on educational advancement, innovation, and the integration of technology in teaching and learning. He noted the abundance of talented educators and youth in the country but highlighted the necessity for modern educational methods to fully realize their potential.

University of Sargodha Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas stated that the conference aims to review developments in higher education and set priorities for the future. He noted the university's recent achievements, including its ranking among the top 10 public-sector universities in Pakistan and among the top 400 in Asia. Additionally, he mentioned the university's registration of 86 patents over the past three years.

Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Sarwar Awan welcomed participants and emphasized the university's commitment to community engagement and research-led development. Senior faculty members, including deans from various faculties, discussed progress in fields such as research, information technology, agriculture, pharmacy, and quality assurance.

The event was attended by vice chancellors from several public-sector universities, including Government College University Faisalabad, Government College Women University Faisalabad, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, and others, alongside senior academics and administrative officials.
