Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi hosted a book launch ceremony for renowned poet Gohar Azmi’s latest poetry collection, “Aaina-e-Tamsaal,” at Haseena Moin Hall. The event featured notable literary figures who praised Azmi’s contributions to poetry and his unwavering principles.
Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, who presided over the ceremony, highlighted Azmi’s representation of truth and integrity in society, viewing him as a hopeful figure in challenging times. Chief guest Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi emphasized Azmi’s prolific career, noting the publication of 24 books over nearly four decades.
Speakers including Sohail Shafiq, Rizwan Siddiqui, and others commended Azmi’s intellectual depth and the moral values embedded in his work. They acknowledged his ability to convey complex ideas in accessible language and his dedication to his craft.
The event featured poetry recitations from Azmi’s collection, earning appreciation from the audience. In his closing remarks, Azmi expressed gratitude and shared reflections on his literary journey, captivating attendees with selected verses from his new collection.
