PCB Talent Hunt Programme Showcases Cricketing Prowess in Karachi

Karachi: Three matches in the PCB Talent Hunt Programme for the School Cricket Championship in Karachi showcased remarkable performances from young cricketers, with both bat and ball playing crucial roles in the outcomes.

The first match saw Standard Secondary School clinch a decisive victory over Major Zia uddin Abbasi Government Boys Secondary School by 10 wickets at Annu Bhai Park. Major Zia uddin Abbasi School was bowled out for a mere 44 runs in 20 overs, with Aaish Malik taking 4/13 and Yahya Aslam contributing 2/10. Standard Secondary School chased the target in just 4.3 overs without losing a wicket, with Arbaz Naveed and Rayyan Khan remaining unbeaten on 24 and 23, respectively.

In the second match, Jamia Darul Uloom Korangi emerged victorious against Government Boys High School Hajirabad by 28 runs at the Darul Uloom Korangi ground. Jamia Darul Uloom Korangi posted 142 runs before being bowled out in 31 overs. Muzammil, with a stellar 5/27, and Muhammad Rehan, who took 3/30, were the standout bowlers. In response, Government Boys High School Hajirabad managed 114 runs in 23 overs, with Muhammad Hashir claiming 5/29 and Sami Ullah taking 3/22.

The third match at IBA Ground saw Happy Palace School defeating Anglo Oriental Government Boys Secondary School by 39 runs. Happy Palace School scored 210 runs in 35.3 overs, led by Shahveer Jalali’s 55. Abdul Aziz was instrumental with the ball, taking 4/34. Anglo Oriental School, in reply, was all out for 171 runs in 31.4 overs. Abdul Aziz impressed with the bat as well, scoring 49 runs, while Darain Faraz took 4/34 with the ball.

These matches underscore the talent and potential within Karachi’s school cricket scene, with promising performances from several young players.
