LAHORE: Punjab University has reached a significant milestone with the approval of the second revision of the PC-I project titled "Strengthening of Academic and Research Programs at the University of the Punjab, Lahore," which allocates a total of Rs. 4.15 billion. This development was confirmed at a Central Development Working Party (CDWP) meeting, led by the Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Prof Ahsan Iqbal.

According to University of the Punjab, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali stated that the approval represents a crucial step in enhancing the academic and research infrastructure of the university. The project aims to upgrade research capabilities, strengthen academic programs, and improve research facilities, thereby fostering an improved environment for advanced teaching, learning, and research. The revised allocation is expected to provide necessary financial support for the project's implementation and aid the university in achieving modern academic and research infrastructure goals.

The university administration expressed gratitude for the achievement and acknowledged the support from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives. The revised PC-I approval is considered a pivotal development for the university's transformation into a stronger educational and research institution. The initiative is anticipated to significantly enhance the quality of academic programs and expand the university's research capacity. Additionally, the administration affirmed its commitment to effectively utilize the approved resources for advancing academic excellence, research, and institutional development.
