Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board has unveiled the schedule and team rosters for the President's Trophy Grade-I first-class tournament. Set to commence on September 12, the event will mark the beginning of the 2026-27 domestic cricket season, concluding with a five-day final on October 28. Eight teams, including Ghani, Khan Research Laboratories (KRL), Kingsmen Academy, Markhor IT Solutions (MIT), Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan Television (PTV), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), will compete in the tournament.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the competition will feature 28 four-day first-class matches in a single-league round-robin format, with each team playing seven matches. The top two teams will advance to the final. Both MIT Solutions, winners of the President's Trophy Grade-II, and Kingsmen Academy, runners-up, will make their first-class debut in this tournament. Matches will be hosted across four cities: Peshawar, Abbottabad, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi, with the opening round featuring Ghani versus KRL, MIT Solutions against Kingsmen Academy, PTV facing OGDCL, and SBP taking on SNGPL.
The Grade-II Gold and Silver tournaments are slated to begin in the third week of September, with additional details to be announced later. The departmental Grade-I teams have finalized their rosters for both the President's Trophy and the Cup, allowing players to be selected based on availability. The tournament promises to be a significant event in Pakistan's domestic cricket calendar, showcasing talent from across the nation.
