Former NED University Vice Chancellor Dr. Jameel Ahmed Khan Passes Away

Islamabad: The Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) mourned the passing of former NED University Vice Chancellor Dr. Jameel Ahmed Khan on Friday.

PDP Chairman Altaf Shakoor, General Secretary Iqbal Hashmi, and other party officials expressed their profound grief and lauded Dr. Khan’s significant contributions to engineering education in Pakistan. They described his death as a major setback and offered prayers for his soul.

Dr. Khan’s work in the educational, industrial, and technological fields was praised as highly commendable. His passing represents a significant loss to the international engineering fraternity. He remained committed to Pakistan’s technological progress, serving as President of the Pakistan Academy of Engineering until his final days. Even at ninety, his drive, commitment, and vigor in serving his nation were exceptional.

After earning his PhD in engineering from Germany in 1964, Dr. Khan chose to dedicate his expertise to his homeland, despite having opportunities abroad.

The PDP has suggested that the Sindh government declare a day of mourning to recognize Dr. Khan’s contributions to society.
