Ombudsman Rejects IJT Activist’s Plea For University Re-Admission

Islamabad: The Punjab Provincial Ombudsman has denied a request by a student political leader for reinstatement at Punjab University. Faizan Khan, a representative of the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) at the Old Campus, sought readmission to the BS Punjabi program (2022-26). The Ombudsman, after reviewing the case, found no administrative wrongdoing by the university’s Institute of Punjabi and Cultural Studies.

The Ombudsman’s ruling affirmed the disciplinary committee of Oriental College’s decision, citing adherence to established protocols. Khan, identified as an active member of a student group, reportedly struggled academically. The committee dismissed him for failing to maintain the required academic performance in semester examinations.
