Islamabad: Four alumni of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) received the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, a national award, on Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day. The honor recognizes their exceptional contributions during the recent conflict with India. Among the recipients, DIG Kamran Adil (LLB Shariah and Law, 2000) was recognized for his work compiling evidence of Indian war crimes.

Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura, Shahid Imran Marth (LLB Shariah and Law, 2002), received the award for protecting government facilities and managing administrative duties during the war. Muhammad Hasan Iqbal (BSc Hons CS, 1998), District Police Officer Bahawalpur, was honored for his work in law enforcement and public safety.

Zaighum Nawaz (MBA IT 2002–2005, MS English 2006–2008), Director of Civil Defense Punjab, received recognition for his contributions to civil defense.

IIUI President, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, congratulated the awardees, calling their achievements a source of pride for the university. He stated that their recognition demonstrates the dedication and excellence IIUI graduates bring to national service, enhancing the university’s standing both nationally and globally.
