IBA Karachi Celebrates Independence Day With “Marka-E-Haq” Festivities

Islamabad: IBA Karachi commemorated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with a series of events titled “Marka-e-Haq” under the broader campaign “Watan Se Wafa – IBA Karachi’s Tribute to Pakistan”. The celebrations, themed “Hum Zinda Qaum Hain – The Legacy of Bunyan-al-Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq,” began on August 4th and continued through August 14th.

Initial events included a patriotic video project featuring over 50 IBA community members, badge distribution, and a reflective gathering of over 200 staff and faculty. An “Azadi ka Sabz Paigham” tree planting initiative saw over 110 participants plant 30 saplings.

A “Kahoot-e-Pakistan” quiz engaged 120 participants on August 7th, followed by “Sada-e-Watan,” a national song contest, on August 8th. A “Mini Marathon” on August 9th drew both IBA affiliates and external participants.

Artistic and cultural activities included “Rang-e-Haq,” a painting competition held on August 11th, and “Saqafat-e-Pakistan,” a cultural day and freedom walk led by IBA Executive Director Dr. S Akbar Zaidi on August 12th. A screening of the film “Jinnah” and various sporting matches were also organized.

The grand finale on August 14th featured a flag hoisting ceremony, celebratory activities, and addresses by Registrar Dr. Mohammad Asad Ilyas, HR Director Mr. Irfan Qamar, and Brigadier M. Umer Farooq, Regional Directorate Commander, ANF Sindh. A celebratory breakfast and final sports matches concluded the events.

The “Marka-e-Haq” celebrations reflected national pride and a vision for a prosperous Pakistan, echoing province-wide celebrations announced by the Chief Minister of Sindh.
