Lahore: The University of Education in Lahore marked Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir on August 5, demonstrating solidarity with the Kashmiri struggle for freedom. The observance included rallies, seminars, and awareness activities across its campuses, condemning the events of August 5, 2019, when India revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
The central event occurred at the Township Campus, where Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Chaudhry, along with faculty, students, administrative officers, and staff, gathered in large numbers.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Chaudhry described the 2019 actions as a significant violation of United Nations resolutions and international laws. He emphasized Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kashmiri people.
The Vice Chancellor also highlighted the university’s commitment to educating students about the Kashmir issue. The event concluded with a prayer for Kashmir’s liberation and remembrance of the martyrs.
