PHEC Convenes Strategic Meeting to Discuss University Upgrades

Lahore: The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, convened a strategic meeting with vice chancellors and key stakeholders to deliberate on vital reforms in the higher education sector. The focus of the discussions was on upgrading university infrastructure, enhancing research and innovation, and ensuring financial sustainability.

The meeting brought together prominent academic leaders, including Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir from the University of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Dr. Uzma Qureshi of Lahore College for Women University, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry from Government College University. Representatives from the University of Chenab, as well as PHEC officials, also participated in the discussions.

Key agenda items included developing practical strategies to modernize university systems and foster innovation-driven growth within Punjab’s higher education institutions. The meeting highlighted the need for collaborative efforts to address the challenges facing universities and to implement reforms that will promote academic excellence across the region.
