Lahore: Hazoor Ahmad, a doctoral candidate from the Electrical Engineering Department at Information Technology University (ITU) of the Punjab, is scheduled to present his PhD thesis defense on August 8, 2025. The thesis, titled “Hardware Acceleration for Deep Learning on Edge,” aims to explore advancements in technology that allow deep learning processes to be more efficient and effective at the edge of networks.
The defense is slated to take place at 11:00 AM in LT-1, located on Level-6 of Arfa Software Technology Park, which houses ITU. Ahmad, a member of the 2nd batch of PhD students in his department, has received guidance from his supervisor, Prof. Dr. Rehan Hafiz, and co-supervisor, Dr. Mohsen Ali.
In order to attend the public defense, prior registration is mandatory. The registration process will close on August 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM, a day before the event. This requirement is in place to ensure smooth entry into the university premises at Arfa Software Technology Park on Ferozepur Road.
