Karachi: Fatima Sana will continue to lead the Pakistan women’s cricket team as they prepare for a three-match T20 series against Ireland, scheduled to take place in Dublin from August 6 to August 10. The Women’s National Selection Committee has announced the 15-member squad, including the promising 22-year-old Eyman Fatima, the only uncapped player in the lineup.
Eyman Fatima earned her spot after an impressive performance in the National Women’s T20 Tournament held in Karachi in May, where she scored 287 runs over eight matches with a strike rate of 155.14. A right-handed batter, Fatima also represented Pakistan in the inaugural ICC Women’s U19 World Cup in 2023.
The squad was selected from the 24 players participating in the Women’s Skills camp, which is set to conclude on July 27 in Karachi. Following the camp, the selected 15-member team will engage in a pre-series camp in Karachi before their departure to Ireland.
The Pakistan squad includes: Fatima Sana (captain), Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Eyman Fatima, Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali, Najiha Alvi (wicket-keeper), Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Tuba Hassan, and Waheeda Akhtar.
Non-traveling reserves are Neha Sharmin, Omaima Sohail, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Sidra Nawaz, and Syeda Aroob Shah. The player support personnel consists of Hina Munawar (manager), Muhammad Wasim (head coach), Junaid Khan (assistant coach bowling), Abdul Saad (assistant coach fielding), Waleed Ahmed (analyst), and Tehreem Sumbal (physiotherapist).
The series will be hosted at Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin, with matches scheduled for August 6, August 8, and August 10.
