Karachi: Pakistan has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland, introducing uncapped batter Eyman Fatima to the lineup. The series, led by regular skipper Fatima Sana, will take place at Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin from August 6 to 10.
Eyman Fatima’s inclusion follows her standout performance in the National Women’s T20 Tournament, where she accumulated 287 runs in eight matches with a strike rate of 155.14. The 22-year-old has previously represented Pakistan in the ICC Women’s U19 World Cup in 2023.
The squad was selected after evaluating 24 players who attended the Women’s Skills Camp. The selected 15 will gather in Karachi for a pre-series training camp before heading to Ireland.
The last T20I encounter between Pakistan and Ireland occurred in 2022, with Ireland securing a 2-1 series win on their Pakistan tour. The upcoming series offers Pakistan a chance for redemption.
The complete squad includes Fatima Sana, Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Eyman Fatima, Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali, Najiha Alvi, Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Tuba Hassan, and Waheeda Akhtar.
The three-match series is scheduled to commence on August 6, followed by matches on August 8 and August 10, all at the Clontarf Cricket Club.
