Drama Festival in Rawalpindi Draws Crowds, Accolades with “Andhere Kay Roop”

Rawalpindi: On the twelfth day of the Regional Drama Festival, organized by the Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi, the stage drama “Andhere Kay Roop” captured the audience’s attention. The drama featured performances by renowned artists including Shazia Sheikh, Dr. Waqar Azeem, and Sania, drawing significant appreciation from the attendees.

The narrative centers around a blind girl grappling with solitude, past experiences, and her inner self. Her memories, fears, hopes, and dreams are reflected in a male character who alternates between roles as a friend, enemy, and romantic figure.

The performance attracted a diverse audience comprising city dignitaries, media representatives, families, and cultural enthusiasts, all of whom praised the artists’ performances. Special guests, including renowned poet Dr. Afshan Malik and PML-N President Raja Naseer, commended the Government of Punjab’s Family Theater initiative. They highlighted the festival’s role in providing quality entertainment and promoting cultural heritage.

Director of the Arts Council, Muhammad Shakoor, expressed gratitude to the guests, artists, and audience. He affirmed the Punjab Council of the Arts’ commitment to delivering quality entertainment to the public.
