Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, hosted a Tribute Ceremony for Furqan T. Siddiqui, a well-regarded filmmaker and digital media professional, at the Haseena Moin Hall. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a solemn tone for the heartfelt tributes that followed from various showbiz personalities.
The President of the Arts Council, Mohammad Ahmed Shah, expressed his deep bond with Siddiqui. Shah noted Siddiqui’s ability to connect people and his significant contributions to the Arts Council. He assured Siddiqui’s family of the council’s support during this difficult time.
Amjad Hussain Shah, Chairman of the Music Committee, described Siddiqui as a genuine soul who always cared for others. He lamented Siddiqui’s passing as a collective loss for the community.
Actor and host Nadeem Jaffri criticized the industry’s tendency to overlook artists until it is too late. Jaffri highlighted the unfortunate reality that Siddiqui’s contributions were not fully appreciated during his lifetime.
Jibran T. Siddiqui, a relative, spoke of Siddiqui’s love for Karachi and the Arts Council. He recalled Siddiqui’s early entry into the media industry and his enduring influence. Siddiqui’s impact on those around him was evident throughout the evening.
