Youm-e-Takbeer Celebrated in Chitral with Focus on Youth Empowerment

Chitral: The Hashoo Foundation Chitral, in collaboration with the University of Chitral and supported by the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), commemorated Youm-e-Takbeer with a significant event at the University Hall. The occasion marked the anniversary of Pakistan’s emergence as a nuclear power on May 28, 1998, highlighting national sovereignty and defense.

Dr. Sana Ullah, Caretaker Vice Chancellor of the University of Chitral, presided over the event, which saw participation from faculty members, department heads, social activists, civil society representatives, and a large student body.

The event commenced with a Quran recitation by university student Mr. Tauqeer Ullah, followed by the national anthem, fostering a sense of unity among attendees. Mr. Hafeez Ullah introduced the proceedings with an address on the historical importance of Youm-e-Takbeer, acknowledging the contributions of Pakistan’s leadership, scientists, and armed forces.

Mr. Shadman, Regional Coordinator of Hashoo Foundation Chitral, expressed gratitude to PPAF for their support and emphasized the need to educate the youth on national milestones. He paid tribute to the scientific community’s efforts that led to Pakistan’s nuclear capability.

Mr. Muhammad Afzal, a keynote speaker, urged the youth to excel in education and contribute to building a stronger Pakistan. He recognized PPAF’s role in empowering communities and supporting national resilience.

Representing the youth, Mr. Faysal Hashmi, a trainee from Hashoo Foundation’s Front Desk Training Program, delivered a speech on the spirit of Youm-e-Takbeer, discussing Pakistan’s nuclear achievements and his commitment to the country’s future.

Dr. Sana Ullah, the event’s chief guest, praised the efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces and scientists in achieving nuclear status. He called for national integration and student commitment to elevate Pakistan’s global standing. He also commended the organizing efforts of Hashoo Foundation and PPAF.

The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and a Youm-e-Takbeer Walk involving students and faculty, symbolizing unity and appreciation for Pakistan’s defense history. The day reinforced the commitment of Hashoo Foundation, PPAF, and the University of Chitral to empower youth through education and civic engagement.
