Karachi: First Lady of Pakistan and Member National Assembly, Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, has inaugurated the groundbreaking ceremony for the People’s School in Karachi, a significant educational project aimed at enhancing educational accessibility and empowering youth.
According to a statement by Pakistan Peoples Party, the project is spearheaded by the Sindh Peoples Welfare Trust (SPWT), an organization founded by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in February 1987, continuing her legacy of community upliftment through education and healthcare.
Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari was joined by Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Chancellor of SZABIST University and Sindh’s Minister for Health, along with SPWT Board of Trustees, including notable figures like Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Mr. Abdul Aziz Edhi.
The People’s School is set to be built in Karachi and will offer a modern educational environment, including primary and secondary school facilities, and an administrative block. The project is designed to offer both free education for underprivileged students and affordable options for others.
During the ceremony, Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari emphasized the importance of education in shaping Pakistan’s future and reiterated the vision of her mother, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, stating that the project represents a commitment to quality education and future opportunities.
Dr. Suleman Shaikh, a member of the Board of Trustees, highlighted the trust’s commitment to its founding vision and expressed satisfaction in seeing Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s vision come to life.
The event was attended by notable figures, including SZABIST University Board members and several prominent MPAs and officials, reflecting widespread support for the initiative.
