Karachi: Nazimabad Gymkhana Blues advanced to the pre-quarterfinals with a seven-wicket victory against Sun Cricket Club in the ongoing Master Oil Inter Club Cricket Tournament, held across various venues in the city.
According to a statement by Regional Cricket Association Karachi, the tournament is being organized in collaboration with Master Oil Lubricant. The match at Abbasi Gymkhana Ground witnessed a standout performance by Khawaja Muhammad Hafeez, who hit an impressive century.
Sun Cricket Club posted a total of 204 runs before being all out in 32.1 overs. Hafeez led the charge with 100 runs, showcasing his skill with four boundaries and eight sixes. Najeeb ur Rehman was instrumental with the ball, taking four wickets for 31 runs.
Nazimabad Gymkhana Blues comfortably chased the target, reaching 208 for the loss of three wickets in 26.3 overs. Ghani Subhan and Qadir Khan were pivotal in the chase, contributing 97 and 84 runs respectively, steering their team to victory.
In another match, Young Pak Flag Cricket Club secured a four-wicket win against Pak Farman Cricket Club at Young Fighter Ground. Pak Farman CC set a target of 205 runs, with Salman Khan scoring 63. Muhammad Rizwan was the pick of the bowlers, claiming four wickets for 26 runs. Young Pak Flag CC achieved the target in 32.2 overs, thanks to Majid Khan’s 54-run innings.
The tournament continues to showcase competitive cricket, with several clubs vying for the top spot.
