Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has claimed that individuals who participated in the recent protest organized by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were trained and experienced in subversive activities. She criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for possessing modern weapons intended for use against the federation rather than combating terrorism.
According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Bukhari further cited press conferences held by key officials, including the Inspector General of Islamabad, the Home Secretary, and the District Police Officer of Attock, as undeniable evidence of the alleged activities. She stated that evidence of a failed coup on November 26, attributed to the founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi, has surfaced. The minister alleged that foreign nationals were brought to the protest with the objective of attacking security forces, noting that many arrested individuals lacked any record in Pakistan.
Bukhari also addressed internal conflicts within PTI, remarking that the party’s social media presence has become a crucial component for its operations. She emphasized the need for comprehensive regulation of social media across Pakistan. Additionally, she revealed that recent core committee meetings have been marked by internal accusations, with senior and junior members reportedly criticizing each other for acting as informants and spies.
