Lahore: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore held a comprehensive orientation program for its new batch of undergraduate students across various disciplines. The event, conducted at the City Campus, was attended by students from multiple UVAS campuses via video link, setting a welcoming tone for their academic journey.
According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the ceremony was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Meritorious Prof Dr. Muhammad Younus, and attended by notable faculty members including Dean of Veterinary Science Prof Dr. Aneela Zameer Durrani, and Dean of Biosciences Prof Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman. The program aimed to introduce students and their parents to university life, academic expectations, and the supportive educational environment at UVAS. The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the university’s national and international reputation, its focus on practical knowledge, and its role in the socio-economic development of the country through its graduates in the livestock, poultry, and dairy sectors.
The deans shared insights about the rigorous academic programs and the expert faculty dedicated to imparting both theoretical and practical knowledge. Other speakers, including the Hostel Warden and the Director of Student Affairs, outlined the extensive student support services, extracurricular activities, and state-of-the-art facilities like a new wrestling academy and a swimming pool that UVAS offers. They stressed the university’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to both academic and personal growth.
