Lahore: The University of the Punjab is set to host a public defense for Mr. Irshad Hussain’s Ph.D. dissertation in Sociology, scheduled for September 6, 2024. The defense will focus on his work titled “Local Knowledge and Community Integration during Flash-Flood: An Ethnographic Study of Agrarian Community of Kuh-e-Suleiman Range in Pakistan.”
According to University of the Punjab, the event will take place at the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies at 2:00 PM. Mr. Hussain’s research provides an ethnographic insight into the agrarian communities in Pakistan’s Kuh-e-Suleiman Range, particularly how local knowledge is employed to integrate communities during flash floods. The university invites interested faculty members, as well as M.Phil and Ph.D. scholars, to attend the defense.
