Bahawalpur: The Islamia University of Bahawalpur’s Department of Economics will hold a public PhD defense featuring Sadia Mahwish, who will present her research on the impact of tourism development and financial inclusion on women’s empowerment in developing countries, focusing on the role of governance. The event is scheduled for August 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus.
According to The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan, the viva voce will examine key intersections between economic policies and gender empowerment, with Dr. Muhammad Atif Nawaz serving as the supervising professor. The session will also feature Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zahir Faridi, Director of the School of Economics at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, as the external examiner.
This PhD defense aims to contribute significantly to the discourse on how tourism and financial sectors can influence socio-economic conditions for women in less developed regions, highlighting the importance of governance structures in these processes.
