Chinar Sports Club Pothi Makwalan Clinches Victory in District Cricket Championship

Rawalkot: In a dramatic conclusion to the District Cricket Championship organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board, Chinar Sports Club Pothi Makwalan emerged victorious, defeating National Awami Club Mutial Meera by a historic margin of 121 runs at the Graduate College Ground.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the championship, named in honor of Olympian Fazal Mehmood, saw spirited competition among twenty-nine teams from Poonch district over three months. Chinar Sports Club Pothi Makwalan secured their spot in the final after a decisive win against Eleven Star Club Rawalkot, while National Awami Club Mitial Meera advanced by defeating Kashmir Lovers Pak Gulli in the semifinals.

In the final match, Chinar Sports Club Pothi Makwalan, led by team captain Azhar Nazar and key players like Ishtiaq Khan, Mazhar Nazar, Shazab Altaf, Wajial Islam, Qutb Hanif, and others, batted first to set a formidable score of 249 runs. National Awami Club Mitial Meera, despite their efforts, was restricted to just 128 runs, highlighting a significant performance gap.

This victory not only marks a significant achievement for Chinar Sports Club Pothi Makwalan but also highlights the growing competitive spirit and skill levels in the district’s cricket scene.
