Malaysia to Host U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025; India to Face Malaysia, West Indies, and Sri Lanka in Group A

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia is set to host the second edition of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup from January 18 to February 2, 2025, featuring 16 teams across four groups. Defending champions India are grouped with hosts Malaysia, West Indies, and Sri Lanka in Group A. The tournament will open with matches across various venues, including the Bayuemas Oval and UKM YSD Oval in Kuala Lumpur.

According to International Cricket Council, the group stage will see each team playing three matches in a round-robin format, followed by a Super Six stage and culminating in semi-finals and a final at the Bayuemas Oval. Notable fixtures include India versus West Indies on January 19 and a series of matches set for the opening day on January 18.

The tournament structure allows the top three teams from each group to advance to the Super Six stage, where they will be regrouped based on their initial standings and continue to compete for a spot in the semi-finals. The culmination of the tournament will see the top two teams from each Super Six group facing off in the semi-finals scheduled for January 31.
