Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Calls for Immediate Aid Following Devastating Rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Karachi/Islamabad/Peshawar: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has expressed profound grief over the recent severe rainfalls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which resulted in significant loss of lives and property. In response, he has called on the provincial government to deliver immediate and equitable financial assistance to those impacted.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Chairman Zardari issued a statement detailing the widespread destruction across multiple districts including Mansehra, Kohat, Bajaur, Chitral Upper and Lower, Dir Upper, Swat, and Swabi. He highlighted the critical conditions faced by the residents, with considerable damage and distress prevalent in the affected areas.

The Chairman specifically pointed out the tragedy in Shabqadar where numerous lives were lost, and the devastating incident in Kohat where 11 members of a single family perished. He extended his deepest condolences to all families mourning their losses and underscored the urgency of comprehensive damage assessments and the provision of timely, nondiscriminatory aid.

Furthermore, Zardari urged the local government to take preventive measures against potential landslides and other monsoon-related incidents. He also called for immediate assistance to be provided to thousands of tourists stranded in the region due to the adverse weather.

Zardari has directed PPP workers in the affected areas to actively participate in relief and support efforts, emphasizing the party’s commitment to solidarity and rapid response during this difficult time.
