Rawalpindi: The Punjab Arts Council, in collaboration with Voice of Writers, held a ceremony to honor the distinguished poet and journalist Ali Asghar Samar, known for his poetry collection “Haal-e-Dil Zaar.” The event brought together a host of literary figures and was marked by poetic tributes and heartfelt accolades.
According to Punjab Arts Council, the ceremony was presided over by the esteemed poet and writer Naseem Sehar, with noted personalities Khawar Ejaz, Qayyum Tahir, Ziauddin Naeem, Qazi Arif Hussain, and Dr. Agha Shuja in attendance as special guests. The event commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Dr. Syed Munir Kazmi, followed by a Naat performance by the award-winning Syed Kamran Shah Kazmi, highlighting the deep cultural and religious reverence integral to the gathering.
The ceremony featured a series of literary dedications, with several scholars and poets presenting essays and poems celebrating Samar’s contributions to Urdu literature. Notable absentees included Mohammad Akbar Niazi, whose essay was eloquently read by poet Mubashir Saleem.
