Lahore: Director General of Sports Punjab, Pervez Iqbal, announced plans for new sports complexes and facilities under the Chief Minister’s ‘Khailta Punjab’ programme. This announcement came during a significant meeting held at the National Hockey Stadium on Thursday to discuss the development of sports in the region.
According to Sports Board Punjab, The meeting also tackled the progress of the SBP Summer Sports Camps and the Talent Hunt Drive across all divisions. High-level officials including Director Admin M Kaleem, Director Sports Yasmeen Akhter, and Director Youth Affairs Rana Nadeem Anjum, among others, attended the session.
Iqbal highlighted that the construction of state-of-the-art sports complexes is part of a broader effort to foster a sports culture among the youth. He emphasized the ongoing Summer Sports Camps and directed sports officers to increase participation by engaging more children in healthy activities.
The ‘Khailta Punjab’ initiative aims to not only enhance physical infrastructure but also to invigorate the sports landscape of Punjab by increasing accessibility and encouraging sports participation from the grassroots level.
