Karachi, In observance of the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has delivered a poignant message underscoring the critical need to address Islamophobia globally. He calls for increased awareness and the adoption of tangible measures to eliminate prejudice and misunderstanding against Islam and its followers.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Chairman Zardari expressed concern over the negative impact of Islamophobia on the core values of humanity, including tolerance and pluralism. “Confronting Islamophobia is not optional but a moral imperative to preserve our shared humanistic values,” he remarked.
He also stressed that Islam’s message of peace and moderation stands in stark contrast to the negative stereotypes, urging a collective effort to debunk myths that link Islam with terrorism, especially in the post-9/11 landscape. He noted a significant rise in hostility towards Muslims, advocating for an intercultural dialogue that fosters respect and understanding among different faiths.
Chairman Zardari appealed to global leaders, community organizations, faith groups, and individuals to unite in combating Islamophobia, promoting inclusive societies where diversity is celebrated, and everyone can live without fear of discrimination. “Our goal must be to ensure that Islamophobia is eradicated and all people enjoy the freedom to live in dignity and peace,” he emphasized.
