Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Calls for Unity, Pledges Development in Chhachhro Rally

Chachro, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has urged voters to embrace his vision for a united Pakistan in the upcoming February 8 general elections, promising to end the politics of division and hate. During a rally in Chhachhro, Tharparkar district, Zardari criticized the PML-N for neglecting Sindh and outlined ambitious plans to connect Karachi and Tharparkar with a new train service.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the PPP chairman’s visit to Chhachhro was part of a broader election campaign. Zardari praised the residents of Chhachhro and Tharparkar for their overwhelming support, highlighting the deep, affectionate bond between the PPP and the people of the region. He emphasized the historic contributions of the PPP to the area, specifically citing the Thar coal project initiated under Benazir Bhutto’s vision, aimed at boosting the local economy.

Zardari pledged to protect the Karonjhar Mountain from exploitation, asserting that local rights to commerce and natural resources would be fiercely defended under his leadership. He called on the people to turn out in force on election day, positioning himself as the only politician genuinely seeking their mandate, in contrast to opponents he accused of attempting to install a puppet government in Karachi.

The PPP leader also took aim at political adversaries for fostering alliances he deemed detrimental to Sindh’s interests, particularly criticizing those in Sindh aligning with symbols and interests associated with Lahore and Raiwind. Highlighting the critical issues of inflation, poverty, and unemployment, Zardari introduced the “People’s Economic Agreement,” the PPP’s comprehensive manifesto translated into multiple languages, including Sindhi, Saraiki, Balochi, Pashto, English, and Urdu.

Zardari’s promises included doubling incomes, providing free solar power, building houses with ownership rights for women, expanding the Benazir Income Support Program, and offering interest-free business loans to women. He also announced initiatives like the Benazir Kisan Card, Benazir Mazdoor Card, and Benazir Youth Card to support farmers, laborers, and youth. Furthermore, he committed to establishing universities in every district and enhancing the public health system with free treatment facilities, alongside the “Bhook Mittao Program” to feed primary school children.

The PPP chairman concluded his speech by reaffirming his commitment to serve the people without discrimination, calling for support for PPP candidates in Tharparkar and pledging to uphold the oath of service if elected.
