Karachi, The 7th Engro LRBT Golf Tournament, held at Karachi Golf Club on January 14th, 2024, saw a significant turnout of teams from various prestigious institutions, all participating to support a noble cause: preventing blindness due to lack of affordable treatment.
According to Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust, the tournament, now in its seventh year, has become an essential part of their fundraising efforts. The event brings together professionals from financial institutions, corporates, media, and business houses, all competing while contributing to LRBT’s mission. The funds raised are crucial for LRBT to continue offering free eye care across Pakistan through its network of 19 hospitals and 56 primary eye care clinics.
Mr. Najmus Saquib Hameed, Honorary Chairman of LRBT, expressed his gratitude to the participants and highlighted the significant impact of their contributions. He mentioned that the donations from this year’s event would support sight-restoration surgeries for 4,000 patients in need. The event was graced by Mr. Khawaja Iqbal Hassan, Director on the Board of Engro Corp, who attended as Chief Guest and praised LRBT’s impactful work in the community.
The tournament concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the team led by Mr. Anis Ahmed, CEO of Abbott Laboratories Pvt. Limited, emerged as the winner. The team from Dubai Islamic Bank claimed the second prize.
