Punjab University to Host International Punjabi Conference

Lahore, Punjab University’s Institute of Punjabi and Cultural Studies, in collaboration with the Punjab Institute of Languages, Art and Culture (PILAC) Lahore, is set to host a two-day international conference focusing on ‘Punjabi: as an Academic and Functional Language’. The conference’s inaugural ceremony is scheduled for today at 10:30 am at Sherani Hall, Old Campus.

According to University of The Punjab, the event will feature prominent figures from the academic community, including Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Prof Dr Shahid Munir, Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Vice Chancellor Baba Gurunak University Prof Dr Muhammad Afzal, and DG PILAC Mrs Benish Fatima Sahi. Former Chairman PHEC Prof Dr Nizam ud Din and various research scholars are also expected to attend.

The conference aims to explore the academic and functional aspects of the Punjabi language, highlighting its significance in contemporary society and academia. This event represents a significant step in recognizing and promoting the Punjabi language, a vital part of the region’s cultural and linguistic heritage.
