Lahore, The Level-1 Coaching Certification Course at the Institute of Sports Sciences Punjab (ISSP) concluded successfully at Punjab Stadium this Saturday. The course, hosted by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab, was aimed at raising the standards of sports coaching in the province.
According to Sports Board Punjab, Director General Sports Punjab Dr. Asif Tufail, who was the chief guest at the closing ceremony, distributed certificates to the participating coaches. He commended the coaches for their achievement and acknowledged the efforts of the ISSP team in organizing the course and equipping the coaches with modern techniques through qualified master trainers.
Dr. Tufail, in his address, emphasized the crucial role these courses play in improving sports standards across Punjab. He pointed out that the trained coaches would now impart their newly acquired skills and techniques to young players, significantly enhancing the province’s overall sports performance.
The Director General also revealed that the successful participants of this course would be invited to join the upcoming Level-II Coaching Course, further advancing their skills.
The course was notable for its inclusivity, with 35 coaches in attendance, including a blind coach from Multan, M Jamal. This reflects the commitment of the Sports Board Punjab to promote equal opportunities in sports education.
Key figures present at the ceremony included Principal ISSP Chand Parveen, Chief Instructor Hafeez Bhatti, Instructors Shaista Qaiser, Sajid Ali, Malik Nasir, and Master Trainers Dr. Naseebullah Khan and Shafiq Bhatti, all of whom contributed to the course’s success.
