TNFJ and PPP Hold Strategic Meeting in Rawalpindi Ahead of General Elections

Rawalpindi, In a significant pre-election development, the Tehreek Nafaze Fiqh Jafaria (TNFJ) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) held a high-level meeting at the Maktab Shia headquarters in Rawalpindi, discussing political reconciliation and strategies for the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8.

According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the meeting saw the participation of key figures from both parties. The PPP’s central delegation was led by Secretary General Syed Nayar Hussain Bukhari and included National and Provincial Assembly candidates such as Amir Fida Paracha, Raja Imran Ashraf, and others. Representing TNFJ were Chairman Political Cell Zulfikar Ali Raja, Secretary General Allama Basharat Hussain Emami, and several central and regional leaders.

During the meeting, Bukhari paid tribute to Quaid Millat Jafaria Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Mousavi for his contributions to national interests and his resistance against dictatorship. He recognized the shared values of the PPP and TNFJ in their struggle against dictatorship, lauding Mousavi as a prominent voice for fundamental rights, democracy, and the rule of law.

Allama Bisharat Emami of TNFJ highlighted their commitment to national interests, noting their policy of abstaining from electoral politics in the name of religion. Emami emphasized Mousavi’s role in guiding Shia voters towards dignified election policies. Zulfikar Raja remarked on TNFJ’s principle-driven election policy, aimed at countering communal hatred.

Allama Syed Qamar Haider Zaidi recalled a historical moment when Shaheed Benazir Bhutto visited Mr. Mousavi’s Astana, receiving prayers and advice. Shaukat Abbas Jafari, representing TNFJ, thanked the PPP delegation and mentioned the role of the Shia headquarters school in preserving Pakistan’s foundational ideology and leading successful agitation against Zia’s dictatorship.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to maintain contact post-elections. The delegations also prayed for the safety and success of Pakistan’s soldiers and the Islamic world.
