Jamshoro, The University of Sindh’s Institute of Art and Design recently showcased the final projects of its students at the Thesis Show 2023. The exhibition featured a variety of artistic creations, including paintings, textile designs, and documentary films.
According to University of Sindh, the exhibition was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddiq Kalhoro, who appreciated the students’ hard work after viewing the diverse art and design samples displayed across various galleries. The students provided detailed briefings on their respective projects to the Vice Chancellor during the event.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Kalhoro emphasized the significance of the Art and Design Institute, recognizing it as a vital and unique part of the University where art is taught by eminent artists. He noted the potential for students to contribute significantly to the textile industry and suggested that their work could achieve international acclaim if given the opportunity.
Dr. Kalhoro encouraged textile design students to professionally invest in their skills by setting up their own designing company, potentially through the National Incubation Center in Hyderabad.
The event was also attended by notable figures including former Chairperson of the Department of Fine Arts Musarat Mirza, former Director of the Bureau of Stags Mohammad Yusuf Pardesi, and various professors and institute teachers.
The Thesis Show 2023 at the University of Sindh’s Institute of Art and Design not only provided a platform for students to exhibit their talents but also highlighted the institute’s role in nurturing the next generation of artists and designers.
