Pakistan Red Crescent Society Celebrates Christmas with Inclusivity and Joy

Islamabad, In a heartwarming display of unity and inclusivity, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) held a vibrant Christmas celebration at its National Headquarters. The event, a testament to the organization’s commitment to embracing all communities, brought together a diverse group of individuals, including key representatives from various international humanitarian societies, PRCS staff, and volunteers.

According to Pakistan Red Crescent Society, the celebration was attended by the PRCS Chairman, Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, along with prominent figures from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Pakistan, and partner National Societies such as the Turkish Red Crescent and German Red Cross. The event featured the ceremonial cutting of a Christmas cake, symbolizing unity and resilience, and the auditorium was festively decorated to enhance the joyous mood.

The inclusivity of the event was further highlighted by the presence of a Pastor and a Bishop from the Christian community, who offered prayers and appreciated the PRCS’s dedication to humanitarian service. They also expressed gratitude to Chairman Laghari for his role in promoting an inclusive and harmonious environment.

Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, in his address, underscored the essence of Christmas as a day of love, peace, and compassion, emphasizing that humanity unites us all. He announced the PRCS’s initiative to facilitate visits for Christian employees to their holy places, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity. Chairman Laghari also distributed Christmas gifts to Christian staff members and led special prayers for the well-being of the Christian community and the nation’s progress.

Muhammad Abaidullah, Secretary General of PRCS, highlighted the significance of the occasion in fostering unity among different communities. Piwi Ophoff, Head of Country Delegation, IFRC in Pakistan, praised the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement and commended the PRCS for organizing the event, which resonated with messages of peace, stability, and religious harmony.
