Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh Deputy Amir Promises Islamic and Developed Pakistan Post-Election

Mirpurkhas, Mumtaz Hussain Sohto, the Deputy Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh, addressed a workers’ convention in Mirpurkhas, promising a new dawn for Pakistan post the February 8 elections. Sohto expressed confidence in the leadership of Siraj-ul-Haq and pledged to embark on a historic journey to establish a safe, bright, and stable Pakistan, free from the influence of global exploitative institutions.

According to Jamaat-E-Islami Pakistan, Sohto criticized the current leadership, accusing them of being in cahoots with various mafias, including those in the sugar, flour, fertilizer, and dollar industries. He vowed to eradicate what he termed as the worst corrupt leadership and liberate the country from those who deprive its citizens of basic necessities like water, electricity, gas, education, and health. The February 8 election, he claimed, will be a pivotal moment for the people of Pakistan, marking a departure from the influence of the IMF, World Bank, and what he labeled as “American agents.”

During the convention, other speakers, including Mufti Tahsi Ahsan Bhutto, Asim Shaikh, and Irfanul Haque Qureshi, echoed similar sentiments. The event was attended by a large number of officials, workers, and sympathizers of Jamaat-e-Islami Mirpurkhas. Sohto emphasized the importance of implementing the just and fair system of the Quran and Sunnah to resolve Pakistan’s problems. He lamented the state of Pakistan’s rich mineral resources and the poverty and hunger of its people, attributing these issues to the elite’s dependence on international institutions.

Sohto urged officials to contribute financially to Jamaat-e-Islami’s election campaign, contrasting their ideological commitment with the material resources of their opponents. He concluded by expressing faith in the dedication of the party’s workers and their commitment to a halal lifestyle, asserting that success in this world and the hereafter is their destiny.
