60 Years of Diplomatic Ties between Pakistan and Poland Celebrated at Arts Council Ceremony

Karachi, 12 Oct 2023:The 60th anniversary of Pakistan-Poland diplomatic relations was commemoratively marked in a ceremonious event organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, in collaboration with the Federal Urdu University, according to a press release from the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi. The event, held in Auditorium II, saw the presence of dignitaries including President Arts Council Mohammad Ahmad Shah and Polish Ambassador to Pakistan, Maciej Pisarski. The ceremony not only celebrated six decades of diplomatic relations between the two nations but also highlighted the ongoing and potential future collaborations, particularly in the field of education.

The ceremony was inaugurated with the national anthems of both Pakistan and Poland, followed by the showcasing of a documentary detailing a joint international conference, organized in 2022 by the Department of International Relations, Federal Urdu University, Karachi, and the Institute of Political Science, University of Warmia and Mazury, Poland. Ambassador Pisarski, while addressing the attendees, underscored that post-World War, Poland has prioritized fostering public relations and expanding global connections, including with Pakistan. He emphasized that through the adaptation and application of modern technology, progress can be achieved, expressing a desire to create educational pathways for students in Poland.

The 60-year diplomatic relationship stands as a testament to the intention of both countries’ citizens to foster reconciliation and expansive relations. Professor Dr. Ziauddin articulated that the Department of International Relations is amongst the university’s most active and dynamic departments, with its faculty vigorously engaged in academic, teaching, and research activities. Prof. Dr. Arkadiusz Zukowski elaborated on various dimensions of the Pakistan-Poland relationship during his address.

Expressing gratitude toward all attendees, students, and participants, President of the Department of International Relations Dr. Asghar Ali Dashti concluded the ceremony. Gifts were presented to the Chief Guest and other attendees by the Department of International Relations, while Assistant Professor Dr. Rizwana Jabeen adeptly performed the duties of Moderator, ensuring a smoothly conducted event.
