Chitral, August 14, 2023 (PPI-OT): In celebration of 76th anniversary of Independence Day of Pakistan, the University of Chitral, on directives of the Vice Chancellor, organized different events to celebrate the Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The flag hoisting ceremony was performed by Dr. Sahib Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor, UoCh along with guards and police band. The National Anthem was also played on this occasion by the Police Band who joined the celebration with their heart-warming performances, adding an air of grandeur to the occasion. A large number of faculty, staff members and students were present on the occasion. The campus was decorated with Pakistani flags and banners to mark the Independence Day.

Then a captivating program unfolded in the main hall of the University, where students eloquently delivered speeches and sang national songs that stirred the emotions of the audience. Their heartfelt performances ignited a sense of unity and pride among the audience, encapsulating the spirit of the nation. The program was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sahib Khan. In his enlightening speech, Dr. Sahib Khan eloquently emphasized the invaluable contributions and sacrifices made by the nation`s heroes. His words resounded with the audience, serving as a poignant reminder of the strength and determination that led Pakistan to its hard-earned independence.

The culmination of the event was marked by a joyous cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the shared joy and optimism that define the nation`s journey. The celebratory atmosphere was a testament to the unity and fervor that binds the University of Chitral`s community together. At the end of the occasion Dr. Kifayatullah Buneri, Convener, Event Management Committee delivered a vote of thanks to the faculty members, students, and the administration for making the event successful. The program ended with a walk and prayers for the homeland.
