Almost three quarters (73%) of the Pakistani population thinks that the country’s economic situation has gotten worse in the last six months: Consumer Confidence Index Q3 2022 by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan and Dun and Bradstreet

Islamabad, March 31, 2023 (PPI-OT): According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, almost three quarters (73%) of the Pakistani population thinks that the country’s economic situation has gotten worse in the last six months.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country, was asked the question “In your opinion, how would you describe the current economic situation in Pakistan as compared to the last six months?” In response, 2% said it is a lot better, 10% said it is better, 12% said there has been no change, 40% said the country’s economic situation has gotten worse while 33% said it is a lot worse and 3% said they did not know.

Dr. Niamatullah Kakar represents Turbat University in International Congress

Turbat, March 31, 2023 (PPI-OT): Dr. Niamatullah Kakar, Assistant Professor, Department of Natural and Basic Sciences, University of Turbat (UoT) presented his talk and poster at the “41st Pakistan Congress of Zoology (International)” at the University of Punjab, Lahore from March 16-18, 2023. The event was organized by the Institute of Zoology, the University of Punjab, and the Zoology Society of Pakistan (ZSP). Professors, researchers, and scientists from Europe, the USA, China, and Pakistan presented their research work at the conference.

Dr. Kakar, while representing the University of Turbat, presented his research work on the Characterization of Heavy Metal Contamination in Water and Fish. Dr. Kakar further presented a poster presentation titled “Deciphering the effect of locally circulating SARS_CoV-2 variants on the haematological profile of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infected patients”. The research work of Dr. Kakar was highly appreciated by the organizers and participants.

Prize Distribution Ceremony of International Mendel Day and World Water Day held at Turbat University

Turbat, March 31, 2023 (PPI-OT): Department of Natural and Basic Sciences, University of Turbat (UoT) organized a prize distribution ceremony on 29th March 2023 to award prizes and certificates to those outstanding participants who got distinguished positions in the different activities which were held earlier at Turbat University on account of International Mendel Day, International Women’s Day and World Water Day. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest of the event, Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences for organizing different activities at UoT and congratulated all winners in various categories of different events.

He urged the faculty and students to continue their hard work and amplify their efforts in the organization of such events. He acknowledged the significance of World Water Day for water-stressed regions including Makran. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jahageer Khan, Chairman, of the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences highlighted the importance of genetics in our lives and apprised the audience about the valuable work done by Gregor Mendel. He vowed to commemorate these events with more energy and enthusiasm next year.

In the end, prizes and certificates were distributed among winners in various categories. Registrar Ganguzar Baloch, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Dr. Shah Mir Baloch, Protocol Officer, Mir Bahad Baloch, faculty members, and students also attended the event.

Heze Peony International Communication Forum to Be Held on April 9, Sharing the Story of Peony with the World

HEZE, China, March 31, 2023 /Xinhua-AsiaNet/– The Heze Peony International Communication Forum will be held at Huimengtai of Heze on April 9, hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and the China Foreign Language Publishing Administration.

Peony is beautiful, dignified and graceful as the most typical business card of the ‘Chinese Capital of Peony’ — Heze, a famous tourism brand of Hospitable Shandong and a cultural symbol rich in Chinese characteristics to be promoted worldwide. Themed ‘Creating a Chinese Cultural Identity and Sharing the Story of Heze Peony with the World’, the forum aims to promote the international communication of Heze peony and build a peony culture platform for strengthening mutual exchange, multi-industry integration and the city’s influence.

According to The News Office of the People’s Government of Heze, the forum is mainly composed of ‘1+6+N’, where ‘1’ refers to a themed forum. Important guests will be invited to exchange new thoughts, ideas and judgments from different angles and dimensions on the world’s pattern and make the voice of China heard. ‘6’ refers to the six segments of the forum, namely the exhibition of achievements, the opening ceremony, keynote speeches, round-table seminars, the signing ceremony of ‘Cultural Communication and Innovation Cooperation Base – Peony Culture International Communication Center’, the launching of the initiative of peony garden construction overseas. ‘N’ refers to a series of activities such as observation trips before the forum, themed seminars, media reports, foreign internet celebrity and influencer trips, ‘Peony Tea Party’ for international friends. Various activities will be closely combined with the peony and special industries of Heze. The guests and reporters will be invited to have an immersive experience of the peony garden, survey the peony industry and visit the special exhibition halls.

The international forum will promote the shaping of an international peony brand and the international communication of peony culture. The CPC Committee and government of Heze have attached high importance to the event, going all out to promote the preparations for the event. Heze will warmly welcome guests and visitors from around the world and invite them appreciate the charm of the ‘Chinese Capital of Peony’.
