Bahawalpur, December 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):American-based renowned Muslim scholar Dr. Badr Hashmi has published Tafsir al-Qur’an in four volumes, with the foreword and foreword written by Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob, Vice Chancellor of Islamia University, Bahawalpur. Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob has said that Dr. Badr Hashmi is a great Islamic thinker. He felt the need that other translations of the Holy Quran in English language are not in accordance with the requirements of the present age.
In this translation and commentary, there is a mention of the common teachings of Muslims and other believers of the Abrahamic religion in the context of the former Sahaf al-Samawiya to facilitate preaching in Europe and America. Dr. Badar Hashmi is an economist and has lived in North America for the past four decades. He hails from Bahawalpur and has held important positions in the civil service and the World Bank. Many of his publications have come out in which the colour of love for Islam and the land of Bahawalpur is reflected.
In recent days, the Department Translation Studies and the Department of Religions, Scholars and Interfaith Harmony organized by Islamia University Bahawalpur organized a seminar on the topic of “Translations of the Arabic Quran and Contemporary Requirements” in which the translator and interpreter of the Quran Dr. Badr Hashmi gave an online keynote address.
