Lahore, December 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):An important meeting of the consortium of the Vice-Chancellors of various universities of Punjab constitute by Governor Punjab Engineer Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman was held at the main campus of the University of Education, Lahore, which was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I).

The meeting held on the agenda of “Governance and Finance: Challenges and Sharing Good Practices”, former Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Professor Dr. Muhammad Nizamuddin, Vice Chancellor Information Technology University, Lahore Prof. Dr. Sarfaraz Khurshid, Vice Chancellor Bahauddin Zakaria University, Multan Prof. Dr. Mansoor Akbar, Head Department of Immunology and Virology University of Health Sciences, Lahore Prof Dr. Shah Jahan, Vice Chancellor Khawaja Farid University of Engineering and Information Technology, Rahim Yar Khan Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suleman Tahir, Vice Chancellor Government College University, Faisalabad Prof. Dr. Shahid Kamal and others participated.

Addressing the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Nasir Pasha (S.I.) said that without improving administrative and financial matters, no department or institution, including education, can be stable or develop. Today, improvement of financial and administrative matters is the most important need of the time in institutions.

Providing the best educational environment in educational institutions is the first responsibility of us because it is the foundation on which the structure of the entire society stands. He said educated youth with good character are truly the future and asset of Pakistan, for which educational institutions, especially higher education institutions, will have to play their dynamic role.

The government is committed to promote modern technology in educational institutions, eradicating all evils including drugs and making universities world class, for which the support of educated sections of the society is required. And this consortium is formed to achieve these objectives. In the meeting, the participants also presented several suggestions to improve the financial and administrative matters in the institutions, which will be sent to the government after finalization.

Punjab University declares Associate Degree Commerce annual 2022 results

Lahore, December 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):Punjab University Examinations Department has declared the results of Associate Degree in Commerce / Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Part-I and Part-II annual examinations 2022. According to details candidates appeared in Associate Degree in Commerce / Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Part-I annual examinations 2022 are 14592 and 2711 passed the examination while pass percentage is 18.58.

Similarly, candidates appeared in Associate Degree in Commerce / Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Part-II annual examinations 2022 are 11338 and 3931 passed the examination, pass percentage is 34.67.

German Company shows interest in setting up a waste-to-energy plant in Lahore 

Lahore, December 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):An investors delegation led by Mr. Carsten Wenske, CEO of German firm Innovative Techno Plus, met with Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his office and expressed willingness to set up a waste-to-energy project in Lahore and also expressed interest in investing in solar panel manufacturing.

The CM opined that cheap electricity will be provided by the waste-to-energy project and added that the Punjab cabinet has already approved the expression of interest for the project. The generated electricity will be directly supplied to industrial estates and the project will be taken forward on a fast track, he said.

The production cost of the electricity obtained from the waste-to-energy project will decrease by more than 50%; the CM added and regretted that criminal negligence was committed during the PML-N tenure by not paying attention to the waste-to-energy projects. It has also been decided to convert the street lights system to solar power under a private partnership mode.

The commissioner’s office, sports grounds and other institutions will also be converted to solar energy and a transmission and Distribution Company will be established for the transmission of electricity in Punjab, the CM stated. The expats delegation included Muhammad Asif, Abdul Jabbar, Anjum Munir and Tanvir Shah. Sajid Bhatti MPA, Principal Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti, secretary local government, secretary energy, secretary industries, CEO Lahore Waste Management Company and others were also present.
