General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s role in serving Islam, democracy and national defense is commendable: Chaudhry Parvez Elahi

Lahore, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has addressed the grand gathering of the Pakistan Conference on the Protection of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) under the auspices of the International Council for the Preservation of the End of the Prophet (PBUH) at Jamia Ashrafia and said that I know the Commander-in-Chief of Pakistan very well. I have seen General Qamar Javed Bajwa very closely, he is always in the forefront for the defense and protection of Islam and Pakistan, his efforts in the service of Islam, democracy and national defense are commendable.

He said that Pakistan Army and scholars have saved this country from chaos, civil war and all kinds of situations. General Qamar Javed Bajwa always served the leaders of all sects, religious schools and all religious groups. Yes, not only me, everyone who loves this country and cherishes national security always puts Pakistan’s religious identity and religious matters first.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that when the decision was taken to operate on the Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan and the country started to be pushed towards civil war, the role played by General Qamar Javed Bajwa in stopping the operation and violence and bringing it to reconciliation was a great success, it is worth writing in golden words, if General Qamar Javed Bajwa and the scholars had not reached an agreement at that time, the whole nation would have faced many difficulties.

Similarly, the issue of Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s sit-in was also resolved with the special efforts of General Bajwa. He said that when Tablighi Jamaat was banned in Saudi Arabia, a delegation consisting of Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, Maulana Muhammad Hanif Jalandhri, members of Raiwind’s Shura and our colleague MPA Hafiz Ammar Yasir met General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the army chief took personal interest and sat down with the Saudi ruler and convinced him that this is a religious party. He played a role and with his personal interest this problem was also resolved.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that these occasions were mentioned only as an example, otherwise you are more familiar than me with the role of Pakistan Army and General Qamar Javed Bajwa for the nation. He said that the PDM should not be under the misconception that anyone’s relations with the Pakistan Army will be bad, the solution to the problems that comes do resolve only with the special efforts of General Bajwa. He said that what happened in our neighborhood is the result of the joint struggle of the defenders of the ideological and geographical borders of this country.

In the future, whether it is the defense of the homeland or the protection of the belief of the end of Prophethood (PBUH), the protection of the faith of the new generation, or the establishment of peace and harmony, we all have to play a role together. Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that today we pay homage to the great martyrs of the Pakistan Army, our army is the guardian of the geographical borders of the dear motherland, the war of 1965 is a wonderful chapter in the defense history of Pakistan, the Indian attacks in February 2019 was foiled by the Pakistan Air Force, India was not only repulsed but forced to flee back. Having set great examples which will always be remembered, the Pakistan Army has always given a befitting reply to the enemy. Chaudhry Parvez Elahi further said that the martyrs who laid down their precious lives for the defense of the country are our pride, today the whole nation expresses complete solidarity with the martyrs and their families, Pakistan has the best army in the world.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that today is a memorable day regarding the end of the Prophet (PBUH) and the history of Pakistan. On this day, we are gathered in a institution like Jamia Ashrafia, which has an identity and background regarding Pakistan, the establishment of Pakistan and the ideology of Pakistan. Today’s grand gathering was organized by a great group like the International Assembly for the Protection of the End of Prophethood (PBUH), which has a long historical struggle spanning several decades for the preservation of the belief of End of Prophethood (PBUH).

Our role regarding the end of Prophethood (PBUH) is not of today, but from the time of Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi Shaheed till today, Allah has given us the privilege of defending and protecting the belief of the end of Prophethood (peace be upon him). The verses of the end of the Prophet (PBUH) are beautifully illuminated in the Punjab Assembly building. The official places have been decorated with the holy verse. In every book and textbooks, wherever the name of Prophet (PBUH) will come, there will be an expression of the belief of the end of the Prophet (PBUH) and an arrangement to send blessings and peace.

This arrangement, Insha-Allah, will become a means of salvation and intercession for us and the protection of the faith and belief of our generations. Allah has given us the opportunity to remove many legal errors and legislate regarding the end of the Prophet (PBUH) and made it a means to prevent many anti-Islamic activities. Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that Alhamdulillah we were able to include the oath of Khatm Nubawwat (PBUH) in the marriage certificate, thanks to which the future of our women is safe, (Insha-Allah), no women and family will be cheated in the future, the benefit of this is that there is no ambiguity as to which religion the women and their children belong to after marriage.

CM Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that Allah Ta’ala says that those who transact usury will have black faces when they are raised on the Day of Resurrection. A punishment of five years is prescribed for those who are found involved in this business, usury is individually banned, all usurious transactions are prohibited, money given on usury is severely punished. They take it back by beating, we have set punishments for it.

The Chief Minister said that Allah Almighty has given the opportunity to do many things with regard to the Holy Quran, from the establishment of the Quran Board to making the teaching of the Quran recitation and translation mandatory and the doors of every educational institution in this country are open to scholars and students. We made a law in the assembly that if any book containing defamatory content is caught, it is also immediately confiscated and the publisher is banned. It is necessary for the survival of the beloved country of Pakistan.

Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi announced a mandatory break for Zuhr prayers in government offices from 1 to 2 o’clock. He further said that the ban on jobs will be lifted in ten days, flood victims will be made houses. In the Conference on the End of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Member of Punjab Assembly Hafiz Ammar Yasir, Rasikh Elahi, Mufti Ahmad Ali, Shaykh Al-Hadith Hafiz Fazal Rahim, Maulana Azizur Rahman Sani, Maulana Mahbubul Hasan Tahir, Maulana Allah Wasaya and a large number of scholars attended.

Saqlain reflects on India win with one eye on Afghanistan match

Dubai, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan’s Super-4 campaign in the ACC T20 Asia Cup got off to a sweet start on Sunday when they avenged their Group A loss to India in an equally thrilling contest. The result was an outcome of intelligent and smart tactical decisions, which were translated into winning performances by the batters, who, in the process, highlighted and underscored their batting depth, power and prowess.

The strategic decision to promote left-hander Mohammad Nawaz to number four to counter India’s leg-spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi, and make the most of the shorter boundary on one side of the ground, fully paid off. The five-wicket win also brought to the fore the courage and determination of the team as Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s most successful batter since the start of 2021 and the tournament’s highest run-getter, braved a knee injury in the first innings to post the highest score of the match.

When Iftikhar Ahmed struck Arshdeep Singh down the ground on the penultimate ball to run two and complete the win, Pakistan recorded their highest successful T20I run-chase against India. Recently, Pakistan’s successes have been built around the top-order excellence with Babar Azam and Rizwan scoring a heavy chunk of the team’s runs.

However, with Nawaz rising to the occasion with his blistering 42 off 20, and Khushdil Shah and Asif Ali batting intelligently, pushing the ball into gaps to pick ones and twos and dispatching balls in the slot for boundaries in the last overs, augurs well for Pakistan, considering that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is just over five weeks away. “The win against India has certainly lifted the morale of the team and brought to light the depth of our batting unit,” head coach Saqlain Mushtaq told PCB Digital.

“T20 cricket is all about tactful maneuvering and we have the requisite individuals to make this happen at any phase of the innings. Mohammad Nawaz is a utility player and we all knew he had what it takes to deliver in pressure situations. But it is just extraordinary how this youngster went in and took the game away from India in a matter of a few overs.”

Despite India cruising to 62 for one by the end of the PowerPlay after being asked to bat, Pakistan spinners, once again, bowled with great discipline in the middle overs that not only slowed the flow of runs but also provided crucial wickets.

Between the seventh and 14th overs, India’s run-rate dropped to eight and in the meantime, they lost KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant, only left-hander in the middle-order. Nawaz and Shadab Khan were in operation during this phase of the innings and returned one for 25 and two for 31, respectively bowling at economy rates of 6.25 and 7.75, respectively.

“What Shadab Khan and Nawaz did for us in the middle overs was absolute gold,” continued Saqlain, adding “They put on the shackles and got us wickets regularly which had a huge impact on the total. It was because of these middle overs that we were able to restrict India to 181 for seven.

“Haris Rauf bowled with exceptional skill in the last over, denying a batter of Virat Kohli’s calibre any room and keeping him glued to his crease with immaculate yorkers.

“If you see, we now have a well-rounded bowling attack: Naseem Shah and Shahnawaz Dahani are brilliant with the new ball, our spinners are a threat to any side in the middle overs and Haris Rauf is a class act in the death. Add Shaheen Afridi to the equation and we have a bowling line-up, which will send chills down the spine of any batter in the opposition camp.”

Pakistan play Afghanistan in their next Super-4 match on Wednesday at the historic Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The two teams have faced off twice in the format with Pakistan coming out victorious both times. The record win against Hong Kong and Super-4 triumph over India have given Pakistan the desired momentum ahead of what promises to be another exciting contest, while Afghanistan, after a perfect group-stage campaign, enter the contest following a loss to Sri Lanka.

“Afghanistan are a good side and they have shown that from time to time, but we are confident to get a hat-trick of victories on Wednesday,” said Saqlain.

“The conditions in Sharjah will be suitable for spinners, but if a batter spends enough time in the middle, there will be a lot of runs on offer in the latter part of the innings with shorter boundaries.”

Boyden Finds Innovation, Human Capital and Digital Transformation Top Growth Drivers

Global research shows Industry 5.0 gathering pace as organisations align digital advances with human capital

New York, Sept. 05, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Boyden, a premier leadership and talent advisory firm with more than 75 offices in over 45 countries, reports on its annual global executive talent research, showing that innovation, human capital and digital transformation are the top growth drivers. With ‘competing for the right talent’ a top driver of structural change, Industry 5.0 is gaining momentum as organisations strive to align talent with digital advances, particularly AI/robotics/machine learning and tech/cloud/cybersecurity talent.

The global study, Strengthening the human-centric core of Industry 5.0[1], How can organisations thrive in a complex world of risk? explores perspectives on risk among CEOs, boards and other senior leaders, alongside executive talent trends, priorities and investment.

“The merging of human ingenuity with tech and digital capabilities is accelerating the business cycle as organisations strive to address global disruption,” commented Trina D. Gordon, President & CEO of Boyden. “At this time of pervasive uncertainty, we embrace the challenge of helping clients to understand the global environment for talent, emerging skill sets and the leadership needs of their organisation through our insight, market intelligence and original research”.

Core findings show that (i) innovation, (ii) human capital and (iii) digital transformation are the top three drivers of growth over the next two years. Confidence in organisational growth potential is high, with 70% very confident or confident, but greater alignment of talent is needed: confidence in having the right talent to align with strategy is at 59% confident or very confident. This confidence is impacted by risk. The top external risks are identified as (i) inflation, (ii) global economic volatility and (iii) supply chain disruption. The top three internal risks are: (i) rising business costs, (ii) employee burnout and (iii) the need for different executive skill sets.

Research finds that, at the executive level, 81 percent of respondents identify a need to strengthen digital talent (AI, robotics, machine learning); 80% tech, cloud and cybersecurity; and 79 percent marketing & sales. In an environment where people come first, 78 percent need to strengthen human resources capabilities. As environmental and social challenges continue, 71 percent of respondents need to strengthen skills in ESG-sustainability and 69 percent skills in ESG-DE&I[2].

Organisations are addressing talent needs and alignment by investing in ‘leadership development for high potentials,’ ‘hiring new leadership talent,’ and ‘redeploying or retraining existing people’. These top three priorities remain the same as 2021 findings. The use of interim executives shows a step change; 35 percent are extremely likely or likely to ‘bring in interim executives,’ up from 22 percent in 2021.

Findings on how organisations are approaching ESG show that for 50 percent of respondents ESG-sustainability is ‘primarily part of most business discussions’ or ‘deeply embedded in organisational culture’; and for 52 percent of respondents ESG-DE&I is ‘primarily part of most business discussions’ or ‘deeply embedded in organisational culture’.

At board level, 55 percent of respondents identify a need to strengthen skills in ESG-DE&I; 52 percent a need to strengthen skills in ESG-sustainability; and 50 percent a need to strengthen skills in innovation/business transformation. Despite this, just 40 percent consider it extremely likely or likely that their organisation will invest in a board review in the next two years.

Looking ahead to 2023, recruitment and retention challenges are expected to increase: 68 percent of respondents expect to experience recruitment challenges, compared with 49 percent the previous year; and 63 percent of respondents expect to experience retention challenges, compared with 50 percent the previous year. In the pursuit of talent, respondents are turning to innovative tactics to hire or retain talent. For retention, respondents are using bonuses, hybrid working and leadership development.

Hiring will grow, with 50 percent expecting an increase, compared with 36 percent the previous year. Interim management is increasingly valued; 40 percent expect an increase in their use of interim solutions, compared with 28 percent the previous year.
