SARGODHA: University of Sargodha marked Medical Laboratory Professionals Week 2026 by hosting a series of activities to raise awareness about the essential role of laboratory professionals in healthcare. The event, which included an awareness walk, was organized by the Department of Allied Health Sciences under the theme "Lab Story: To Infinity and Beyond for Our Patients."

According to University of Sargodha, the activities saw participation from students of Medical Laboratory Sciences and featured a keynote address by Dr. Muhammad Riaz, Chairman of the Department of Allied Health Sciences. In his address, Dr. Riaz emphasized the vital role laboratory professionals play in ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. He characterized laboratory diagnostics as the backbone of the modern healthcare system and acknowledged the contributions of professionals working in this field.

Dr. Riaz also addressed the emerging challenges in laboratory technology and the need for ongoing professional development to meet these challenges. The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, underscoring the importance of recognizing the contributions of medical laboratory professionals.
