Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized an event titled “An Evening of Classical Dance” to celebrate International Dance Day at Auditorium I. The event featured performances by renowned dancer Sheema Kermani and her students, showcasing various styles of classical dance.
According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the evening commenced with a “Manipuri” dance, followed by a cultural showcase highlighting the artistic intricacies of classical dance. Sheema Kermani, a celebrated dancer and teacher, expressed solidarity with Palestine by performing with a traditional Palestinian scarf. She remarked on the occasion that the celebration was a tribute to those striving for humanity, peace, and justice.
Head of Dance Academy Mani Chao emphasized the resilience of the dance community, acknowledging the support of Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council. The event saw enthusiastic applause for performers including Muhammad Asif, Dawood Bhatti, Taimoor, Yasir, Muhammad Alam, Javeria, Neena, KP, and Irma, drawing a large crowd of art enthusiasts, students, and artists.
