Colombo: Sri Lanka has unveiled its 15-member squad for the women's cricket competition at the 2026 Asian Games. The team, led by Captain Chamari Athapaththu, retains several players from the recent Women's Asia Cup campaign while introducing a few alterations.

According to International Cricket Council, notable absences from the squad include Vishmi Gunarathne and Nilakshika Silva, both of whom delivered significant performances during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup and the Asia Cup. Additionally, Chetana Vimukthi, who was recalled for the Asia Cup, is not part of the Asian Games lineup.

The squad incorporates promising young talent with the inclusion of 17-year-old Chamudi Praboda and 19-year-old Rashmika Sewwandi. Praboda had made a mark during the Asia Cup, and Sewwandi's recent T20I appearance was against Pakistan in August. The team also features experienced players like Imesha Dulani, Harshitha Samarawickrama, Kaveesha Dilhari, Hasini Perera, Sugandika Kumari, and Anushka Sanjeewani.

Sri Lanka's campaign at the Asian Games will commence with a match against Malaysia on September 18.
