Lahore: The PCB Talent Hunt Programme for Schools will commence its second season with an opening match between Beaconhouse School and Aitchison College at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday. This edition will see participation from 1,400 schools across 100 districts in Pakistan, marking a significant expansion from its previous iteration.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will inaugurate the tournament as the chief guest. The initiative has grown from its initial 39 districts and 450 schools. The programme aims to integrate top-performing school cricketers into the PCB's age-group and pathways system.

The event will also feature a musical concert by renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan after the opening match, with free entry for attendees. The PCB has invested in the school cricket ecosystem with financial and personnel resources, conducting trials and training camps across the country in preparation for the tournament.

To accommodate schools without their own grounds, multiple venues have been arranged, and cricket kits have been provided to various participating schools.
